Furry Lumps (Video)

My dog really is just a cute little lump.

When we had adopted him, I had promised my parents all sorts of things; I would wake up early everyday to walk the dog, I would give him a bath every single day, and I would love and love and love and love him.

Now let us fast forward to two months after I got the dog. My dad goes and walks the dog in the morning while I snore in my bed. My dad and I share the dog-washing, and my mom sometimes takes him out to a saloon to have a fur-cut.

It’s quite different now then what I imagined. My dad is doing most of the work, my mom is getting the most love, and I am getting the most fun playing with him when I want to.

My dog was supposed to sleep with me in my bed… instead, he sneaks up onto the master bedroom bed when my mom is taking a nap and not noticing.

Regardless, I still love my dog, so this is a tribute to him and all the great times I had with him. I hope you enjoy it.

A Dog is LOST!

Every night, it is one of our long-held family traditions to go for a walk. It wasn’t written in some sort of coat of arms, it wasn’t a requirement, but my dad just liked going for a walk after dinner. As a result, because of his constant vigilance, we feel weird if we don’t go on the walk.

Even better than the walk would be a bike ride. My mom sometimes can’t stay at home very long, so when that happens, and it is just my dad and me, we like going for a nice bike ride. We usually take a ride around my school, then circle around back home the long way, and ride through a gorgeous park.

So today, I was riding down the street towards a trail behind our neighborhood when a dog suddenly started chasing my dad and I. To be more precise, that dog was chasing my dog Peanut, and he was scared into hysterics. Continue reading

Caught Redhanded

Sometimes, I eat dumplings while watching a bit of TV, when I’m bored. But when I’m sometimes doing that, my dog is always next to me, sitting obediently, waiting for maybe a little morsel of food? Please?

And I always say, “No, Peanut. This is not for you.” But once, I went upstairs to get my cell phone. And while I was doing that, I checked my email. When I came back down, my dumplings were all missing.

I looked at my dog, obediently sitting in his bed, licking his mouth. He did it, I knew. But I needed to prove it.

Funny Brat

Peanut is too funny. He is also a brat.

So sometimes, that makes him a funny brat.

Take this morning, for example. My mother was working downstairs for a bit, and usually when she is, she lets Peanut go roam. While she was doing this, however, Peanut decided to go do his own stuff.

That’s Not Me!

This morning, when I was asleep, something remarkably funny happened. My dad told me about it at dinner, and it all happened in just a few minutes.

My dad was taking Peanut, my dog, out for a nice walk. Nothing too long. Just a short little walk around. I was snoring away in my bed, not wanting to wake up until I really had to or else I would be late for school. Continue reading

Peanut’s Urge for Food

Peanut has seemingly gotten braver and braver over time. He seems to be more and more anxious about smelling and perhaps licking the more tastier items in the house.

One month ago, I found one of Peanut’s toys on the couch. There was no way my parents or I could have picked it up and put it on the couch. It was strange.

A Bit of Life Without Peanut

Once you got a dog, you will shout at it. It should be Dog’s Law, or something. I’m on my bike, and then Peanut suddenly runs across in front of me. I brake hard to avoid him getting hit. When I finally stop and see skid marks behind me, Peanut looks at me like nothing has happened and he sits. I shout at him. And he looks like I’m talking about the weather until I lightly bump him. Then he looks like he’s sitting on a fire.

I don’t know, but every time I find Peanut upstairs (he’s not supposed to be there), every time I catch him peeing in the house, I think Peanut is a bit annoying. You get a dog, he’s supposed to care for you, to love you, to sleep with you, but I’m afraid of him coming upstairs, let alone on my bed, because he might pee somewhere.

A Strong Bond

Peanut has always loved our family being whole, but I didn’t expect it that hard.

My aunt, Mom, Dad, and I were out for a walk, peacefully striding towards a house for sale. My aunt told us about it, and we wanted to take a look, as she wanted to buy it.

When we got there, my dad and my aunt were let into the house by a realtor who was waiting for them. As they waved goodbye and went into the house, they left Mom, Peanut, and me outside.

I cannot at all take standing there, watching the grass grow. Same with my mom. She about totally blew up the moment they left us alone.

“I have other things to do than stand here… like swimming! Come on!” and we began to leave.

But Peanut had other ideas.

Poor Peanut gets Neutered

This morning, between seven and eight, my little pup Peanut got sent to the vet. The title says it all. He got neutered.

We picked him up around 4:30. There weren’t many people. I got to take a look at where they were keeping him. It turned out he was in a crate about the same size as the one we use to keep him home, which is the size of about a fireproof safe.

Where is Mom?

My cute little Peanut really loves my mom. It is probably because she plays with him, hugs him, and does a lot more with him. She also (to my annoyance) allows him to do more things.

Take for example this: usually, if Peanut does not eat his food, we count to 30, and pick up his bowl. The food will be given to him the next time he is fed. But my mom thinks he absolutely cannot miss a single grain of kibble. So here it comes: Peanut doesn’t eat.
