Opening Ceremony Fun (Poem)

The clock is ticking down,
The crowd is going wild,
And we all know the reason why:
The countdown has begun.

10, 9, 8, 7.
The lights of the drummers
flaring bright.

6, 5, 4.
The numbers slide in.
3. 2.
The audience screams.

1.

Fireworks streaming,
Music bolstering,
Dancers dancing,
Singers singing!

The opening ceremony
for the 2008 games
have begun.

Two thousand and eight dancers,
in perfect circles,
Dancing and prancing,
To say, we’re ready! to the world.

A few hours of amazing fun,
Your eyes go wild!
Once in four years,
But this one lasts a lifetime.
