A Little Cheating
My cousin was taking the SAT tests. It was not an easy affair, but years of studying and learning had done good. She had finished the test.
Entirely wore out, she left the testing area to find her mom so they could go and perhaps buy some kind of treat at McDonalds. As she passed, she saw a restroom and decided to go to it. She was, after all, done with the test.
There was another girl in the bathroom as she went in.
“Hi,” she said, “are you done with the test? It’s hard!”
“Yea,” she replied. That girl must have also finished the test.
“I didn’t understand the thirty-fifth question.” the girl sadly said.
“Oh? I did,” my cousin said, and launched into a thorough explanation of the question and the answers. When she was finished, the girl smiled, and said, “Thanks!”
As my cousin stepped out of the restroom, she noticed the girl had gone back to the testing area.
“That wasn’t fair,” she later said to me. “I didn’t have help, but she did!”
“Would you ask for answers to the test if it were really easy, and nobody would know?”
“NO!” I said, my honest self kicking in.
So the question is, would you? If it was really easy and nobody would know, would you do it? Maybe you’ll say no, but will you really not cheat when the big decision comes?
