Caught Redhanded

Sometimes, I eat dumplings while watching a bit of TV, when I’m bored. But when I’m sometimes doing that, my dog is always next to me, sitting obediently, waiting for maybe a little morsel of food? Please?

And I always say, “No, Peanut. This is not for you.” But once, I went upstairs to get my cell phone. And while I was doing that, I checked my email. When I came back down, my dumplings were all missing.

I looked at my dog, obediently sitting in his bed, licking his mouth. He did it, I knew. But I needed to prove it.

The next day, I deliberately got Peanut to come and sniff my fish sticks. Then I told Peanut to stay and I went upstairs and hid behind a flowerpot.

Peanut looked in my direction. Apparently he didn’t see me because he jumped up so his front paws were on the table and sniffed. He opened his mouth and….

“AHA!” I shouted, jumping down. Peanut looked extremely surprised and ran away like a stray cat. I told him, “You don’t eat my food, okay? You have your own food. This food,” I added, feeding him some treats.

Peanut listened. But the next day some of my egg rolls disappeared after I went to turn on my computer…
