Beggar’s Eyes

I wrote this poem while starring at Peanut. Coincidentally he was also starring at me, thus giving me an idea for a poem:

I know of a beggar.

He lives in my house.

All day and all night,

He makes crazy rouses.

Why, oh, why,

Would he do such a thing?

The answer is simple,

For he is a beggar!

A beggar?

Yes, a beggar.

You heard right.

Not off by a byte.

For there is a beggar,

Hes an evil old lump.

At dinnertime and at eating time,

He glares like a chump.

Oh, please, oh, please!

Some food for me?

I know Ive eaten,

But some more, you agree?

Oh, no, I would say.

Youve had your share today.

Besides, if I give in,

You will cause such of a din!

But sometimes, just sometimes,

I cannot resist.

Your eyes so entrancing,

I ought to be dancing.

You must know by now,

Who this thieving evil beggar is,

Its Peanut, my dog,

And those sneaky eyes of his.
