Skier’s Heaviness

My mom told me a story one day about her friend.

A woman had just received a high-quality set of ski gear from her husband as a Christmas gift. Great gear it was, yet the woman despised it.

The reason was that it was too heavy. Inside, there were things that would make me jump in delight: designer goggles, ski shirts, high-quality skis, great stuff. The airplane flight to Colorado would be horrible!

Yet added up, it was a huge mess, and weighed more than forty pounds. So for a long time, the woman didn’t want to use it.

Finally, the husband asked her, “Please just use it once so I know my Christmas gift was worth it.”

So the woman packed her stuff up and flew to Colorado, and after being taken down by snow-mobile from the top of the mountain, her husband asked her if she gained at all from his present.

After she thought for a while, she replied, “I realized just so light my own shoes are!”
