It was Wednesday, day five of my trip to Big Bend National Park. I looked on the big calendar I had hanging on the wall. It had everything we were doing.
Mostly it was just stuff like “Explore BBNP.” But today was special. There was nothing much on it: no back-road drives, no hotel moving, or anything like that.
There was only one thing marked in on that day. “Big Bend River Trip.”
Oh, yes. The special feature of the trip. We would be canoeing inside the Rio Grande / Santa Elena Canyon. Three miles up the river, and three miles back.

My mom told me a story one day about her friend.
A woman had just received a high-quality set of ski gear from her husband as a Christmas gift. Great gear it was, yet the woman despised it.
The reason was that it was too heavy. Inside, there were things that would make me jump in delight: designer goggles, ski shirts, high-quality skis, great stuff. The airplane flight to Colorado would be horrible!

As a girl I carpooled with got out of the car, I got out too. We were at a combined rehearsal (a rehearsal with both the Town Choir and the Concert Choir), and my dad was sitting outside.

There is a house on the road I live. Not surprising, eh? Well, the people that live inside that ordinary looking house try to transform it into a not-so-ordinary looking house. How? Via gardening.
Maybe it’s that they live on the corner. But either way, EVERYONE loves to go to their house for trick-or-treating on Halloween. Why? They’ve got the best decorations!

“…and you know what?” cried one of the people on the stage.
“WE ARE… known worldwide… AS THE OTHER BROTHERS!”
I was at the Texas Renaissance Festival enjoying a show known as “The Other Brothers”, who were the two people who were standing on the stage.
