A Family Without Dinner
What if I told you that my aunt doesn’t eat dinner? Well, it’s true. I personally like dinner. Not that my parents will say that though, with them always telling me to eat more…
Take a look at my usual food day: breakfast has to be eaten in five minutes, and is maybe an egg and milk; lunch is junk food from school, chicken rings, and a cup of juice.
Dinner, however, is special. I can get together with my family; have some fun, eat better. My mom cooks it, and she makes pretty nice food.
But my aunt has no need for dinner. Her daughter (my cousin) eats food before my aunt wakes; she eats lunch at school and dinner gets its head cut off every day by her diet plan. Its for some kind of homecoming…
For my uncle, he gets up, whips up something simple for breakfast, eats lunch at the restaurant he works, and has no need for dinner.
So neither does my aunt. Naturally, there’s a built-in diet plan for her. In that kind of family, there always is.
Isn’t it strange?
Well, one day my aunt came over to my house at dinner time. She used to always do that, so we didn’t think it was too important. We made some dinner for her. Some fried rice, some veggies, some fish.
But the moment she walked in the door, she said, “I am not eating today.”
Humph, my mom probably thought as she put up the plates and spoons she set out for her.
Then my aunt showed my mom her new optimized stomach. It was thin. It was lean. She was wearing a shirt that was previously too small for her. Not now!
Furthermore, my aunt weighed much less!
Kind of hilarious, really. My mom got kind of sad as she looked at her dinner after she left….
