Painting: The Secluded Country

So this is the outcome of my hard work. My first ever oil painting has now been officially declared finished and will be framed in a week or so and put somewhere.

I’ve worked long and hard for this.

As you may remember, previously I posted an article regarding this same painting. You may take this article as an update.

I have redone a lot of things on that painting and finished a lot of stuff, too.

So here it is: the painting named The Secluded Country. I didn’t name it, though.

This is the before picture. The after picture is below.

After

This is the after picture. Full review below.

Wow, there is a difference. See it? For starters, before the house on the left was unfinished. Now it is complete.

It was really just filling in the red house. Also, above the house, I made it brighter to reflect the actual thing. I also outlined the door and made the window darker, as it was with the real thing.

This is the house in the background on the top-left side next to the trees. It wasn’t so hard to get in.

Before, it was really hard to get in because the oils around it would mix and not show a true white. So now that its dry, I got it in!

grass-baleft: Before
right: After

This is the grass underneath the reflection of the tree. For the reflection of the tree itself, it has gotten darker, as it was with the real thing.

Also, the grass is now more layered, rather than just a gradient, which was totally wrong. Also, the flowers are now different sizes.

It came to a point when I was painting this oil masterpiece that the wall of the white/gray house did not extend out that much in the actual thing.

Another thing to note is that the tree is more dark.

So after all these enhancements (drum roll)…After

TADA!

Like it? So after all those enhancements listed above plus plenty more (notice the clouds in the sky?), this is my masterpiece.

Glorious, I say.

To improve art level, it is good to make reproduction oil paintings. Just have a try!
