Partly the reason you haven’t been hearing from me on my blog for a while is because of a disaster that has happened that has indirectly concerned me.
Of course, the other half of the reason is that school has started. But one morning when I got onto my dad’s car and buckled into the middle seat in my dad’s car, he told me something.
“You are going to need to buckle into one of the side seats.”

Space Center Houston is the place that my family have been to for tons of times. But today was special. A friend of my dad had come to Houston on a business trip, but we got to have a bit of fun with them too.
But with two whole days, just walking around was definitely not an option. So for the first day, we took them to Space Center Houston.

He loved airplanes, models, remote controlled ones, anything having to do with airplanes. He still loved to play with him, even though he was over 50.
And I met him today.
Here’s what happened: my dad and I were out for biking on a path behind our neighborhood. Nearing a small stream, we suddenly heard a strange noise.
It sounded like an airplane. As we looked up, we saw two airplanes. The first one was tiny, and it was pretty big, even though it looked tiny from where we were.
But we couldn’t believe our eyes after that. Because the other airplane was right under it. And it looked huge.
We were seeing a miniature!

When we got there, my dad and my aunt were let into the house by a realtor who was waiting for them. As they waved goodbye and went into the house, they left Mom, Peanut, and me outside.
I cannot at all take standing there, watching the grass grow. Same with my mom. She about totally blew up the moment they left us alone.
“I have other things to do than stand here… like swimming! Come on!†and we began to leave.
But Peanut had other ideas.

One of my family members has an accordion. I first saw it at a beach party we had on Sunday. It was the birthday of two people in our humongous family, so we just brought one cake and called it a generic birthday.
Well, that family member took out his accordion and played it to the tune of “Happy Birthday”. A few people groaned and called his music an old, slow, slumping toad but I thought it was pretty good.

This morning, between seven and eight, my little pup Peanut got sent to the vet. The title says it all. He got neutered.
We picked him up around 4:30. There weren’t many people. I got to take a look at where they were keeping him. It turned out he was in a crate about the same size as the one we use to keep him home, which is the size of about a fireproof safe.
