I Still Love Em’

April 9, 2007: This post has been edited!

The last few posts about Peanut made me feel guilty. It just happened that I only thought about the bad parts of Peanut, like “pee-nut”. Well, just for today and a whole bunch more entries , I’ve decided to talk about the great aspects about Peanut.

Cuteness

I might have mentioned it before, but he is so lovable. Take a look at some pictures on this page I took of him. My own aunt even told me, “His nose isn’t protruding outwards and his eyes don’t pop. That’s what makes him so cute.

Innocence

No, I’m not talking about his behavior, because peeing all over the house isn’t innocent and no matter how hard he acts I still know it’s him. No, I’m talking about the way he acts when he knows he’s made a mistake.
When he makes a mistake, he does his best effort to look innocent. He sits. By far, that’s the only command he knows, but it’s something. Then he looks up. However, to my mom, he does something else. He  rolls over so that his stomach is facing the ceiling as if he is waiting for my mom to rub his stomach. That’s his look of I-understand-I-made-that-poo.

Restroom Awareness

That’s his very strong part. My dad says it’s a dog’s natural behavior to urinate outside. However, we do not have a doggy door because occasionally leave the gate open. That is the reason he pees on the doormat that is on the inside. My dad tells me that at least he is making an effort to go outside.
Now, whenever he whines near the door, or whenever he tries to get through the closed door of our computer room or any other room, we immediately try to take him out. Just this morning, I did that.
Of course, you have to be quick. Case in point: it was early morning, and I was still asleep. I woke up briefly because I heard my dad say, “no…”. When I got up, I asked him why he said that. He told me that he was just about to get the dog out, but it was too late. You can guess the rest.

Playful-ness

Just this afternoon, I took him out to check the mail. I ran the whole way, and Peanut, huffing the whole way, actually was about only two feet behind me. When I stopped, I opened my legs wide and he went straight through them, stopping after five feet.

So, Peanut can be ridiculously cute. Like the photos?

P.S. I have been upgrading chaotic mortal and thinking of ways to make it better. Note the random-header image PHP I got. :)

Aha! That is for most of the time! You just don’t stay at our house long enough to observe the bad parts of him.
